Level 1 Sleep Study

Monitoring:
EEG (Electroencephalogram): Records brain wave activity to assess sleep stages.
EOG (Electrooculogram): Monitors eye movements.
EMG (Electromyogram): Measures muscle activity, particularly in the chin and legs.
ECG (Electrocardiogram): Records heart activity.
Respiratory: Monitors airflow, oxygen levels, and respiratory effort. This might include a nasal cannula or a mask to measure breathing.
Video Recording: A camera might be used to observe movements during sleep.
Duration: Typically overnight, lasting about 7-8 hours, similar to a normal sleep duration.

Level 2 Sleep Study

Setting: Usually conducted at home with a portable monitoring device.
